αἰσχύνω
(αἶσχος, shame), [in LXX chiefly for בּוּשׁ ;]
1. to disfigure (Hom.).
2. to dishonour (Ord 29,15).
3. to make ashamed (Sir 13,7). Pass., to be put to shame, be ashamed: 2 Kor 10,8 Fil 1,20, 1 Pet 4,16, 1 Joh 2,28; with inf. (M, Pr., 205), Luk 16,3 (cf. ἐπ- (-ομαι), κατ- αἰσχύνω).
