2. proper name, of a people always with article; usually singular collective הַחֹרִיִ, ancient inhabitants of land of Edom 1 Mos 14,6 (בְּהַרֲרָם שֵׂעִיר); in P called בְּנֵי שֵׂעִיר בְּאֶרֶץ אֱדוֺם 1 Mos 36,21 (see v1 Mos 36,20); compare v1 Mos 36,29 v1 Mos 36,30 according to 5 Mos 2,12 (where alone הַחֹרִים), v5 Mos 2,22 they were driven out by sons of Esau (yet see 1 Mos 36,1 c. and Di); ᵐ5 ὁ Ξορραιος, οἱ Ξορραιοι, (1 Mos 36,29; 1 Mos 36,30 Ξορρ(ε)ι).
